With Shanghai's sustained and rapid economic development, possession of the vehicles is increasing rapidly. Urban traffic problems become more and more serious, which to a great extent causes traffic congestion in Shanghai.

In the context of the above, INTERNATIONAL ITS CONFERENCE & EXPO 2008 SHANGHAI was held on Oct. 15-17, 2008. On the background of following Shanghai World Expo, the exhibition aims to promote the development of ITS industry, improve the current traffic conditions in Shanghai,and enhance the modernization and international competitiveness of traffic system. Focusing on “ITS projects of World Expo 2010 Shanghai and traffic information integration of Yangtze River Delta”, the exhibition provided a communication platform for government officials, entrepreneurs, and experts of ITS industry from all over the world.

In the exhibition, TrafficCast China released China’s first traffic prediction product, which was a big highlight and attracted all key media and lots of audiences. Also, the chairman of TrafficCast China, Dr. Bin Ran, gave a speech in the forum titled “Traffic science is the foundation for providing accurate traffic information”, getting wide recognition.
