TrafficCast released China’s first traffic prediction product

October 27, 2008

After four years’ research and development, TrafficCast China officially released traffic prediction product on 15th, Oct. This product could predict future traffic status with seven day. Users could input date and time in the website, and get relevant traffic information forecast, which is displayed in the map in three colors, red (heavy), yellow (moderate) and green (free). As China’s first traffic prediction product, its release indicates that China is leading the world in traffic information modeling technologies.

In China traffic information industry, there has been a saying “North NavInfo, South TrafficCast” for long time. After acquiring CenNavi, thanks to its intensive marketing activities, NavInfo is becoming the main traffic information provider in Beijing. TrafficCast China adopts a different approach. Based on the world’s leading patented technologies on traffic data collecting, processing and fusing from multiple data sources (GPS floating cars, cellular networks, etc.), TrafficCast China won many key projects in Shanghai, including 2010 World Expo traffic information project. TrafficCast China is also the only company obtaining venture capitals in domestic traffic information industry. In addition, it was awarded one of five “2008 the most Innovative Software Company with the highest Investment Value” in “2008 China Software Independent Innovation Report and 2008 China Software Independent Innovation Forum” in June, 2008.

Traffic prediction product launched by TrafficCast China supports both long-term and short-term traffic prediction, which could predict future traffic status within three hours and seven days respectively. As China’s first traffic prediction product, its release would provide much more commercial value and social value to customers including transportation planning agencies, transportation management agencies, wireless companies, media, commercial fleets, navigation companies, vehicle manufactures, websites, individuals, etc.
