For promoting technology progress and pushing technical exchange among the automotive engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE-China) organized “2008 SAE-China Congress” in Tianjin on Nov. 6-9, 2008. The Congress included Keynote Presentations, Leading Panel and Parallel Sessions.

The Congress put " Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction " as the theme of the keynote presentation and invited famous experts to deliver speeches who came from VW, GM, FAW, BMW, Bosch, Continental, Cummins, Ricardo, CNPC, Teijin and many other world-renowned enterprises, concentrating on subjects of energy conservation and emission reduction technology.

With the theme of energy conservation and emission reduction, Leading Panel invited senior experts from domestic automotive industry to participate in interactive discussions, to explore development trends and routes of the current energy and environmental technology and to lead the development direction of Chinese energy conservation and emission reduction strategy.

The Congress has already accepted nearly 400 papers which are divided into eight parallel sessions for the exchange of special topics, including testing, powertrain, automotive electronics, engine manufacturing, automotive suspension, electric vehicle, intelligent traffic and navigation, alternative energy, and economic development of automotive research. At the same time, domestic and international companies were also invited to give reports related to technical topics.

TrafficCast China attended panel session VI: ITS & Telematics, and gave a speech titled “Real-time traffic information quality - Present and Future”.
